You are at a Rummage sale and you find something you just have to get, and it's only 50 cents. Now you notice a picture of that steal of a deal in a magazine. Could it be worth some money, could you retire on it?

Miners have always had it tough, but in 1916 women played a key role in the strike the miners had. Megan Marsnik researched the history of the strike and found women played a huge role and even wrote about it in her book called "Underground".

Most of the time the Lunch with the History People features a book by someone that looks at the history of the area, and talks about that history and what they found looking back. This week it will feature someone with an extensive collection of Twin Ports Photos.

Over a dozen history organizations are gathering May 8th at the Great Hall of the St. Louis Heritage & Arts Center (The Depot) to present the History Fair. They will showcase  artifacts and interesting pieces of our local rich history.

A World War II era C-47 transport plane that was part of the D-Day invasion is spending some time in Duluth this week, giving folks the opportunity to discover the rich history of the plane and learn the powerful history of the war it was built for.

St. Louis County Historical Society announces the next event of its Veterans’ Memorial Hall program, a “History in a Pint” presentation, entitled “More than War Souvenirs: Reflections on Minnesota’s WWII Veterans and Their Japanese Swords”. This event is free and open to all.

Stephen Mulholland, co-owner and Field Director of Duluth Archaeology Center, has worked in archaeology throughout Minnesota since 1982. His work includes many important archaeological sites in St. Louis County. In 2002, he received a Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Archaeological Studies from the University of Minnesota. He is the next speaker for "Lunch With The History People". R

Now that the Fitgers 5k has been run, that signals the start of the season. You can start picking your races and putting them on the calendar. This one is a little different, all proceeds benefit Veterans’ Memorial Hall, a program of St. Louis County Historical Society.

Due to the uncertainty of the weather, Gina’s presentation scheduled for tomorrow, has been cancelled and rescheduled. She will be back for her presentation on September 18, 2014.
