The College of St. Scholastica is having its annual Give to CSS Day Thursday Feb. 25, during a 24-hour period people can give toward current programs and enable students to benefit, some of them would not otherwise be able to benefit at other schools.  I spoke to John Labosky, St. Scholastica’s Vice President for College Advancement about the program.
St. Scholastica is in its 104th academic year, and raised $90,000 through last year’s event and organizers hope to hit a $150, 000 this year, and the great part is, they are halfway there. “This is a very important day for us,” said John Labosky, St. Scholastica’s Vice President for College Advancement, in a press release from St. Scholastica  “It’s best to give on Feb. 25 as your donations are being matched dollar for dollar,” he said. “We’re making the process easy and pain-free. Simply make your online gift in 30 seconds, and it’s going to be matched.”

The day of online giving will support getting classroom equipment to financial aid, to keeping the lights on and supplies. The matching aspect of the campaign adds importance to even the smallest of donations.  In the interview he talks about the opportunities some of the students will get and how thankful they are because of this program.

In the interview John Lebosky talks about a student who was able to accept an opportunity of learning at CSS instead of Notre Dame and thrived in the athletic program as well as getting a degree.
