What IS a sommelier you ask? Most dictionaries describe a sommelier as someone who’s job it is to be knowledgeable about wine. High-end restaurants employ a sommelier to advise head chefs as to food and wine pairings. They’re also available table-side to make those same sort of suggestions to customers who are looking for the best beverage to sample with their food.
