Maybe there IS Christmas Spirit - somewhere.  A Tim Horton's restaurant franchise owner in New England surprised Black Friday shoppers with gift cards.

Jamie Myers owns several tim hortons restaurants in Bangor.

He surprised Black Friday shoppers waiting in line at the Best Buy in Bangor.

"The community does a great job supporting us. We feel it is very very important to give back to our local community all the stores are locally owned and operated and it's our customers who take care of us and we should give back to them. It's the right thing to do," he said.

Some of those gift cards were large enough to pay for customer's entire shopping list.

The chain is giving away 725-dollar Visa gift cards at various Best Buy locations.

Research shows that's how much the average American spends on holiday shopping.
