Duluth's 2022 Cold Front Festival arrives this weekend and, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth, an actual cold front will grip the Northland ahead of time.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will remain fairly mild on Tuesday with highs expected to be in the 20s or even low 30s. However, that will change quickly.

Early Monday morning they shared a graphic on US National Weather Service Duluth Minnesota Facebook page which showed that temperatures were expected to plummet to the single digits below zero by Wednesday morning.

Then, shortly after posting the graphic, they shared a cool video that detailed just how fast temperatures would drop hour-by-hour. As you can see below, things will begin taking a turn for the worse Tuesday afternoon.

From there the forecast gets even colder before we feel any relief from the bitter cold. The low into Thursday morning is expected to be near 20 below zero, with dangerous wind chills, followed by a high Thursday of just 1 degree.

The Northland should start to warm up from there, with a high near 10 degrees expected Friday and then a high of 17 on Saturday, February 5, which is the big day for Duluth's 2022 Cold Front Festival.
