Might Want To Cancel Your Beach Plans, Aerial Lift Bridge Down To One Lane Today

It's hard enough in the Summer when the Aerial Lift Bridge goes up and down every half hour and then up and down every time there is a cargo ship coming through. This will definitely slow down your night.

The City of Duluth has issued a statement, that due to necessary general maintenance and replacement of fixtures, the Aerial Lift Bridge is reduced to one lane today. The traffic signals will control the traffic, so keep an eye even closer to the the bridge and to the directional signals to direct travel.

The City says the work should be completed by 3:00 PM today, depending on weather. If staff are not able to finish, work will resume tomorrow, July 14, at 8:30 AM for several hours. The city also says the work will not affect the lift schedule for water vessels.
