Charges are pending and a suspect is in custody at the St. Louis County Jail following a lengthy high speed chase in Hermantown yesterday.  Authorities trailed the suspect for 35-miles, with speeds in excess of 100-MPH.

According to the Duluth News Tribune, Hermantown Police responded to the call Sunday afternoon just after 4 PM.  The suspect had been spotted driving erratically and with excessive speed near the intersection of LaVaque and Beaver Creek Roads.  A 57-year old suspect was driving a black 2016 Ford Focus, leading authorities on a high-speed tour of West Duluth and Hermantown.

Later the St. Louis County Sheriff's office joined the chase.  Together, law enforcement managed to keep the chase away from congested traffic areas for the most part.

At this point, the name of the suspect has not been released.
