Junior Men’s and Women’s State Curling Championships Move To Duluth
The Minnesota Junior Men's and Women's Championships have been moved to Duluth, MN. The dates of the competition remain the same (Dec 27-30).
This will be a great showcase for our local curlers, who won the National Championship this past year. It will also be a great opportunity to showcase the Duluth Curling Club.
Here's how the play ins take place:
Formats for all Divisions
Less than 10 teams - single team is outright winner unless two or more teams tie.
2 teams - best two out of three games
3-4 teams - double round robin
5-9 teams - single round robin
5-9 teams (juniors) - if one team advances to nationals, single round robin with double knockout provision; if two teams are allotted, double knockout does not apply.
10-14 teams - split round robin of two pools with semifinals and finals.
top two teams from each pool advance to semifinals
pools will be peer seeded prior to the start of the event
15-21 teams - split round robin of three pools with quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.
top two teams from each pool advance
4-rock shootout between top three teams will determine the top two teams to advance directly to the semifinals. Remaining four teams play quarter-finals.

22-28 teams - split round robin of four pools with semifinals and finals
top team from each pool advances to the semifinals
poos will be peer seeded prior to the start of the event
29+ teams - modified triple knockout
standart tournament bracket
a team losing a total of three games is eliminated from the competition
bracket will be peer seeded at the team meeting prior to the start of the event
Ties will be broken by standard WCF tie-breaker procedures.
