How To Use A Crayon As An Emergency Candle

We all know that we should stock candles and flashlights in the house in case of an emergency.  But here's another idea for an emergency light-source that most houses have:  Crayons!

Recently, I came across a tip that suggested to use Crayons as an emergency candle.  When you think about it - of course it would work:  Crayons are a colored wax-like substance wrapped in paper.

To use them, just melt a little bit of the top wax onto a plate, stick the Crayon on it in the upright position, and hold the flame to it long enough for the paper to light on fire.

How smart is that?!
