Drivers along the North Shore will want to know about some lane restrictions next week.

Crews with the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be paving shoulders, installing guardrails, and completing other work related to the new Cut Face River Bridge, which is located six miles south of the Gunflint Trail on Highway 61.

The work will start October 12 and should be complete at the end of the workday on October 15.

The new bridge provides improved drainage beneath the highway and replaces a large culvert that would frequently fill with debris in the past and cause runoffs and bank erosion.
