Before establishing himself as a solo artist, Pickett sang with the Falcons before he hooked up with Atlantic Records, who sent him to record at Stax in Memphis in 1965. Always the ladies man, Wilson took a break from recording one day and strolled into the secretarial pool of the executive offices. Going up to one pretty secretary, he whispered something in her ear, to which she giggled and replied smilingly, "Oh Mr. Pickett, aren't you the wicked one."And now you know the story behind "Wicked Wilson Pickett."
