Gee...what happened? Couldn't the management of U.S. Airways have helped this woman out..or at least maybe called in a favor or two and put her up in a motel or something? Shame on you U.S Airways.

Teri Weissinger was all set to leave California, hop on a plane and start a new life in Idaho. She had her ticket, $30 in her pocket and two bags in hand.

That last part turned out to be a problem, reports. When she checked in at San Francisco International Airport, Weissinger, who had last flown five years ago, was unaware of the $60 baggage check fee newly imposed by US Airways.

Weissinger’s offer to pay the fee upon arrival in Idaho was rejected by the airline, and without the money needed to check her bags, she ended up missing her flight and was told that a new ticket would cost roughly $1,000.

At this point, most passengers would have simply gone home. But Weissinger was in the process of relocating, and didn’t have a home to go to.

So, with no money, no residence and no refund from the airline, she was forced to sleep on the airport floor. For eight days.
