Grandma’s Marathon

If you are planning on running in the 42nd annual Grandma's Marathon it's time. June 1st it will close when it's full or when it's midnight.

If you're running Grandma's Marathon or the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, look for your name on the Grandma's Runners Toyota, now on display at the Miller Hill Mall.

Superior Street is getting a face lift that means changes for the runners in the 42nd annual Grandma’s Marathon, the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, and the fans that want to watch it.

Grandma’s Marathon Duluth, Inc. announced the renewal of HOKA ONE ONE® as the official and exclusive shoe of Grandma’s Marathon with a two-year partnership extension.

Grandma's Marathon announced today the headliners for the Big Top Entertainment for Friday June 15th and Friday June 16th, with a little bit of a change for the layout of the night, providing an earlier headline act and an after party act.

YAF announced new youth pricing for this year for the Saint Fennessy 4K, Fitger’s 5K, Park Point 5-Miler, and the third annual KP Challenge which is a collection of the three. First come first served.

At 5:00 p.m. this Sunday, October 1st, the registration will open for one of the top 5 Marathons in the country. The 2018 Grandma's Marathon, Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, and William Irvin 5k open and this is the first year with a first come first served policy in place, so the race could fill up fast.

Grandma's Marathon is just one of the events that puts Duluth on the map.  They are in full swing with their Wednesday Night at the Races at this time.  Running events like that have spurred several 5K races to crop up, mostly as fundraisers for non-profits and due to that we have a huge running community in the Northland.  These are some of my favorites, maybe you have a few different ones, what'

The 12th Annual Minnesota Mile will be a bit more scenic with the new one mile loop to be moved from downtown Duluth.  Registration is now open and fills up fast.  Whether you are a seasoned vet of running or this is your first race, it promises to showcase Duluth's finest views.

Many things go into the basement at the Grandma's Marathon Headquarters. Beverages for volunteers, hospitality, the DECC, the media center, and many other support volunteers. There are boxes full of things that will be dropped off for different stops or tents for volunteers.

You go down to the DECC and you pick up your race packet, it has information about the area, your timing chip, and other things. Where does it come from, who does that. Well, I investigated and was even made to do the line of info. See if I can keep and what is in a packet.

The 41st running of Grandma’s Marathon and the 27th running of the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon are in the books!
