Adrian Peterson: “It Would Be Cool to Play in Dallas or in Houston”
Even though Adrian Peterson has a deal with the Minnesota Vikings through 2017, the all-star rusher admits it would be "cool" to play home games back in his home state of Texas. Does this mean Vikings fans should be worried they will lose their star running back? Apparently not.
ESPN reports that Peterson says he'd like to spend his entire career with the Vikings, however he admitted yesterday morning in an interview on ESPN Radio that he has thought about playing for one of the two teams in his home state of Texas.
On the air with SVP and Russillo, Peterson admitted the following:
You know, I'd be a liar if I said it's something that hasn't crossed my mind before. But I've also said to myself it would be so amazing to be one of those players who stays with one team his entire career, it would be good if I could do that. But being from Texas, I've always wondered, wow, it would be cool to play in Dallas, to play back home. Or to play in Houston.
AP grew up in Palestine, Texas and grew up cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. Being only an "hour and change" drive away from Dallas (as Peterson puts it), it's a big deal when the Vikings play games against the Cowboys in Texas. During the Vikings most recent trip to Dallas this season, Peterson bought over 100 tickets so family and friends could come to the game.
For now, Peterson has no plans of leaving the Minnesota Vikings. He currently owns several franchise records, and leads the league this season with 1,208 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns going into week 14.
