Construction continues on the new 1,100-foot  bridge that spans the Rouchleau Pit east of Virginia as part of the Highway 53 Relocation Project.  Work began in 2015 and is expected to wrap up this fall - ushering in a new route for the arterial roadways that cuts its way through the Iron Range north towards Canada.

As officials plan for the opening at the end of the summer construction season, they are also faced with a quandary:  What to call the bridge.  Enter the Explore Minnesota folks.

A contest has been started in which they are soliciting name suggestions from the general public.  The winner gets a $100 gift certificate.  Click here to enter.
