Things are not looking good for Wisconsin's middle class, and job growth is even worse according to an article in wisconsingazette.com. Despite Governor Walker's promise of job growth in the state, statistics show the opposite is true.
Wisconsin is in the top tier of those where the middle class has experienced the most severe erosion, according to a state-by-state analysis on the Pew Charitable Trusts' Stateline blog.
In addition, new figures released by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics contain yet more bad economic news for Wisconsin: The state has fallen into a tie for 38th place in private-sector job growth over the past year. The state’s private-sector job growth rate is at 1.16 percent —half the national rate of 2.3 percent.
