If you're a true crime junkie or a history buff, here are two fascinating tours you should probably check out in Wisconsin soon. Consider Madison as your base of operations.

Pretend You're 'On the Lamb' Like Al Capone and John Dillinger

Back in the age of Prohibition and The Great Depression, the rural and wooded areas of Wisconsin were a popular hideout for infamous Chicago-based gangsters like Al Capone and John Dillinger. In fact, the Milwaukee and Madison areas were a hotspot for gangster and mafia action back in the day.

Any true crime or history fan probably knows about the famous shootout that took place between John Dillinger's gang and the FBI at Little Bohemia Lodge in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin back in 1934...

What some people might not know is that Wisconsin actually has over 10 other places throughout the state with strong ties to gangster history, and you have the opportunity to tour every single one of them.

Travel Wisconsin has highlighted two different Gangster Tour itineraries that you should check out soon that they call, the Northern Tour and the Southern Tour.

The Northern Tour will require more travel time because most of the stops are in the Hayward/Minocqua area of Wisconsin, but I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed by what you see there. The Northern Gangster Tour will take you to Manitowish Waters, Couderar, Lac Du Flambeau, Minocqua, Hayward, Mercer, Hurley, and Miscuano Island in Wisconson

The Southern Tour includes a few more stops than the Northern Tour including; Darlington, Columbus, Beaver Dam, Madison, Wisconsin Dells, Lake Delton, Milwaukee, Racine, Oshkosh, and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
