Crews with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation are getting ready to rebuild the heavily-used Belknap Street with a multi-year project that starts this spring.  Due to the nature of the route and the large volume of vehicles that utilize Belknap Street / Highway 2, impacts to traffic are expected to be high.

So when is the project anticipated to kick off?

A post of the City of Superior's Facebook page suggests that work has already started - albeit light in nature.  According to the post, crack and damage surveys started February 27.  Initial traffic control and signage should make its appearance on or about March 16.
