A utility project is closing a one block stretch of Superior Street in Lincoln Park this week.  According to officials with the City of Duluth, the stretch of Superior Street between 23rd Avenue and 24th Avenue west will be blocked off through Friday, July 13.

The closure is to allow utility crews the opportunity to install a new water line - necessary for fire suppression - at a private business that is located in the area.  Work on the project is anticipated to be finished by the end of the day on July 13 - weather permitting.

While the roadway is closed temporarily, a detour will be in place to aid traffic.  West bound traffic will be directed up to West First Street at 23rd Avenue West.  Meanwhile, east bound traffic will be directed to use Michigan Street via access from 24th Avenue West.

The city has provided a map below.  To learn more about this project, click here to visit the City of Duluth's website.
