While you may not be thinking about the start of the school year and sports like football and track,  summer is the best time to schedule those sports physicals. Local-area clinics are making it easy to do  that by publicizing which locations have appointment avails.

While the term varies from school to school - in general - young athletes who are planning on participating in sports during the school year are required to file a sports physical. The physical is important in accounting for any previous injuries or medical conditions, as well as providing a report about the general health of the student.  This record allows coaches and other team officials a better opportunity to identify any potential issues that the student athlete may have so that proper treatment can be given.
