Target’s Car Seat Trade In Program Ends Saturday September 26
Target once again is offering their "Car Seat Trade-In" program this month and it only runs through this Saturday, September 26. Customers can trade in old car seats for a discount on a new car seat. This has been a popular event in past years since they began in 2016.
Some people may be wondering why someone would need to get rid of an old car seat? I was surprised when I became a new parent and found out that car seats have expiration dates. According to The Washington Post, they break down after wear and tear and technology keeps improving on them. That's why car seats usually only last around 6 years. The nice thing about the Target program is not only do you get a discount, but you also are helping by recycling those old seats instead of throwing them away.
Here's the details on how the program works:
- Guests can trade in their old car seats and receive a 20% off coupon towards a new car seat, a car seat base, travel system, stroller, or select baby home gear (playards, high chairs, swings, rockers and bouncers.)
- You can use the coupon either in-store or online and need to be redeemed before October 3, 2020.
- You need to be enrolled in Target Circle to participate and receive your coupon.
Target says that since the program first launched in 2016, they have recycled nearly 1 million car seats, which adds up to about 14.4 million pounds of materials. That's pretty impressive!
The Car Seat Trade In program is taking place at all Target Locations, even including select small-format stores. In The Northland that would include Target locations in Duluth, Virginia, and Grand Rapids.
