In the movie Back to the Future, they predict in the year 2015 that there are hoverboards, flying cars, and that Miami wins the world series. Most of that has come true. The Simpsons, however, have a better track record.

This past week the Simpson's announced that one of their original voices is leaving the fold. Harry Shearer didn't like something about what they offered him and so he said he was done. Now, how do you replace someone as iconic as Shearer? Maybe this guy can do it.

The Simpsons will be losing one of their core voice actors. Harry Shearer has announced he is leaving the show. The squabble as he says it, came when he was told he couldn't work on any outside projects, but the producers disagree. According to TMZ it's because of merchandising payments.

‘The Simpsons’ is one of the longest running shows on television, and while there aren’t enough episodes for them to officially launch their own network, they’re pretty close with 552 installments.

Confession time:  I have never watched The Simpsons.  But - being that the iconic cartoon has been around for decades, I am aware of the show and the character names.  But I didn't know that one of the principal characters - Homer's wife Marge - was from Chisholm.  Well, maybe not her ink-drawn self  - but her namesake - the mother of creator Matt Groening.  Margaret Groening passed away April 22n
