The band MYNX was a staple of Duluth music from the 80′s. I used to follow them as a kid and saw them play a Pepsi Music Contest to win a recorded album made at Inland Sea Recording in Superior and airplay on the pop station in Duluth at the time.
Rick Springfield, The Romantics, and Mynx will be playing live at Bayfront Festival Park on July 9th! Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday June 5th at 10am, but you can get a code for the pre-sale that happens Wednesday June 3rd!
MYNX was at the Sports Garden Rockin' and I captured these great moments while they were on stage. The band was phenomenal as usual and every song was perfect. They even did a version of "Thriller" with the Vincent Price voice over on the end.
The band MYNX a staple of Duluth music from the 80's is celebrating 30 years togetehr this Friday April 26th at Grandma's Sports Garden. The 30th Anniversary Concert is benefit the Essentia Health Foundation Breast Health Center. A lot has changed over those 30 years, and some things thankfully have remained the same.
MYNX was on hand Friday along with Hobey Baker winner Jack Connolly to sign a UMD Bulldog Jersey to help raise $4500 for the Young Survival Coalition. Kool 101.7 was there to host the event and I submit these pictures of the evening. Sorry, they are not perfect, but they were taken with my phone.

Mynx was the stuff in the 80's. I remember the battle of the bands held by KZIO at the old Miller Hill Mall and watching MYNX play. It was the first time I saw a woman playing bass or guitar. The Woman's name was Cory and I was instantly in love. It wasn't just her, the whole band Mark, Tammy, Dan, Cory, Ed, and Mark. They played with enjoyment and they were good!
