The annual Spring Cleanup in the City of Superior happens this year April 28 through May 23.  The city has released the complete schedule of pickup dates, available by clicking here.

While the search continues for the missing Malaysian plane, one word has come back into the news that some people may have never heard before:  Flotsam.

The extra-high property taxes paid by residents of the City of Superior and Douglas County have always been explained  with the phrase:  "But that includes the cost of garbage and recycling service".  A new proposal from the Mayors Office and the City Council would add an additional $20 minimum fee on to that - to subsidize the landfill operations.

We've all seen the signs;  Since its inception in the late 1980's, the Adopt A Highway program has helped the State of Minnesota look better and save money at the same time.

Getting back into Spring, the City of Duluth has many areas that need help. You can make a difference by cleaning your area around your house, picking a place in the city to pick up garbage, but you are invited to help Clean and Green week starting Monday.

Pop cans and candy wrappers.  Plastic bottles and plastic bags.  Rope.  Propane tanks.
