Year two of the three year project to rebuild Superior Street in downtown Duluth is about to kick off, ushering in the summer road construction season.  According to Northland Contractors and the City of Duluth, work will commence once again on Monday, April 8.

Work during the 2019 summer road construction season will focus primarily between Lake Avenue and 4th Avenue East.  On the morning of April 8, drivers can anticipate seeing that area of Superior street blocked off to through traffic.

In advance of the work, the City of Duluth and the Greater Downtown Council are holding a public meeting to pass along information about the scope of the project.  That meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 1 - 10:00 AM at the Greysolon Plaza (213 East Superior Street).

Organizers are also alerting everyone that they have big plans for the kick-off day (April 8) although they aren't sharing the details at this point. They're just suggesting that you should stay tuned for more details.
