Good news for book lovers who are looking for fresh material to get them through the upcoming winter months:  The annual Friends of the Library Book Sale is being planned right now at the Superior Public Library. This years event will happen Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17.

If you've been to the event in years past, then you know that this is one of the largest sales of its kind in the Twin Ports.  You'll be able to find thousands of items - with literally something for everyone and every interest.  Organizers have rounded up a wide variety of books, cookbooks, best sellers, self-help books, young-adult titles, multi-media resources, and more.  And each item is hand-picked by the Friends of the Library for condition and selection.

Similar to the set up in past years, there will be two different "rooms" to shop.  Items in the large meeting room will be available by donation.  Meanwhile, the selections offered in the room next door in the "best room" will be priced for individual sale.

Here are the hours for this years Book Sale:

  • Friday, September 16:  10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Saturday, September 17:  10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

The Friends of the Superior Public Library is a dedicated group of volunteers who organize special events and fund-raise in general to help maintain services for the general library organization. In addition to the annual Book Sale, they also organize the Merry Little Christmas Event every December.

The Superior Public Library is located at 1530 Tower Avenue, at the corner of Belknap and Tower.
