You could say that the St. Louis County Sheriff's office has gone to the dogs - literally.  This week, the sheriff's office welcomed a brand new member: K-9 Wesson.  Hailing from the Czech Republic, K-9 Wesson serves dual purposes with the force:  narcotics detection as well as search and apprehension.

Wesson recently completed a 12-week training program and is now certified to work patrol, partnered with Deputy Ryan Smith.  Their territory is mainly northern St. Louis County.

The purchase and training of K-9 Wesson was partly funded by the AMSOIL Northland Law Enforcement K-9 Foundation;  A donation of $7,500 was made to St. Louis County.  You can learn more and donate to the foundation's cause by visiting their website.
