Planet Earth is in for a couple of rounds of solar storms over the next few days that could leave your GPS and your cell phone acting up.

The solar storms are expected to be in the G2 or G3 category (out of a scale built on 5 being the worst).  Experts say that these magnetic storms have great potential to affect GPS and cell phone transmissions - so not to be surprised if your smart phone starts acting just the opposite for brief periods of time this weekend.

Forecasters are trying to predict exactly when they'll hit, but they suggest that that's not an easy process.
