Look, 2016 has not exactly been a red letter year. Tension with police, problems with gun, the ever-present threat of terrorism and an election unlike any we've seen in memory. But that act of kindness almost makes you remember that humanity is alive and well.

The last day of Spring 2016 felt more like a late summer day, with sweltering heat and humidity and severe thunderstorms taking center stage in Minnesota on Sunday night. Those storms brought with them hail up to baseball-size in some areas and even spawned a couple tornadoes through the state.

Planet Earth is in for a couple of rounds of solar storms over the next few days that could leave your GPS and your cell phone acting up.

For those of you who haven’t heard of ‘Storm Chasers,’ it was a documentary reality television series on the Discovery Channel. Unfortunately for fans, this exhilarating show was cancelled earlier this year. Luckily, the internet provides us the opportunity to watch some of the craziest clips from the show.

With this mornings storms and the ones to follow, police have advised people not to travel. Streets are washed out and if there is standing water there could be hidden sink holes. Mayor Don Ness declared a state of emergency on his facebook page.
