A wide spread voluntary recall has been issued by Mars Wrigley Confectionery US, LLC for three of their popular candy brands:  Skittles gummies, Starburst gummies, and Life Savers gummies.  The recall affects stores nationwide including those in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

According to details released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the concern with these candies are "the potential presence of a very thin metal strand embedded in the gummies or loose in the bag".

The recall was initiated after the Mars-Wrigley company started receiving complaints from customers after finding the foreign metal objects.  It's worth noting that the company is not aware of any illnesses or other problems associated with the candies at this time; the recall was voluntarily initiated under the guise of caution.

Additionally, Mars-Wrigley notes that the candies were "manufactured by a third party and distributed in the United States, Canada, and Mexico".

While the recall affects the gummy-varieties of the three popular candy brands, there are a large number of Item Numbers, UPC Codes, and other Manufacturing Codes associated with the recalled items.  However, the information shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration details that "[o]n the back of each package is a 10-digit manufacturing code".  Here is a brief summary of those Manufacturing Codes in correlation to the brand and varieties of the gummies:
