Just in time for the upcoming holiday weekend (isn't it ironic how that always seems to happen), there are reports of salmonella-tainted veggie trays making people sick in Wisconsin.  Three-known cases of salmonella have been reported from the Del Monte veggie trays sold at Kwik Trip in the Badger State, along with a fourth in Minnesota.

The cases occurred between April 13 and April 27, however officials warn the general public that more haven't been reported yet - as there is often a delay between the initial ingestion, getting sick, and the actual reporting.

Here are the details about which veggie trays are included in the reporting:

  • Del Monte Vegetable Tray (containing broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and dill dip) 6 oz.
  • Del Monte Vegetable Tray (containing broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and dill dip) 12 oz.

Although the initial cases occured via items purchased at Kwik Trip, news sources suggest that the chance the product was distributed to other retailers can't be ruled out.
