Roundabout Considered For Hermantown Intersection

Two years ago there were none.  Then, transportation officials unveiled a roundabout at the base of the Bong Bridge after a multi-year rebuilding project.  Hibbing and Chisholm are at the receiving end of one each this summer.  Now, it appears that the Duluth-Superior area could be seeing another circular-intersection.

St. Louis County officials are contemplating the construction of a roundabout at the busy intersection of Maple Grove and Midway Road in Hermatown.  A study on traffic patterns at the intersection noted that a roundabout could help solve some of the safety and backup problems inherent there.

To gain input from the community, county officials are hosting a meeting on Tuesday, April 18 at 5:30 PM at the Hermantown Public Safety Building:  5105 Maple Grove Road.
