The city of Duluth reminds us that Kenwood Avenue, 10th Avenue East and East 4th Street will be worked on next week, some will alter travel and some will entail a complete closure.  Here are the full details so you can plan ahead accordingly.

Kenwood Avenue, (near the Kenwood Village Apartments)
New utility connections are necessary to support the construction of the new apartment/retail development on Kenwood Ave.   That means, starting Monday, November 30, travel on Kenwood Avenue (between Toledo St. and St. Benedict St.) will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Work will begin on the east bound lane.  Once the east bound lane is completed, they will redirect their focus to the west bound lane and change traffic controls accordingly. Work is anticipated to take one week. In addition, the preparation of the site has resulted in temporary closure of a short stretch of the sidewalk for foot traffic along Arrowhead Road, as you head south to the corner of Kenwood Ave, to allow for entry and exit of large equipment onto the construction site.  Motorists may experience delays and should plan additional travel time to reach their destination.

10th Ave East
Additional follow up utility work is required on 10th Ave East that will require the closure of the road between Superior Street and First Street on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 1 and 2. There will be detour signs for you to follow.
East 4th Street water main project
The water main project on East 4th Street will wrap up over the next week and a half with paving and clean up. In the meantime, this will require complete closure of the road between 14th and 16th Ave East.  If you live in the area of the construction, access to homes, parking and businesses will be available on the avenues.
