Whether you say potato or "po-ta-toe", you'll find something to like at Potato Fest - happening Thursday, October 22 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duluth.  Join Saint Louis County Extension agents as they celebrate the health benefits of this popular tuber.

Along with a Potato Salad Contest and a potato dish sampling, attendees can expect to learn a thing or two from the panel of experts that have been assembled for the evening.  Duluth-native, celebrity chef Bea Ojakangas will be on hand - along with Saint Louis County Horticulturist Bob Olen and members of the Saint Louis County Master Gardeners.

Ojakangas will share basic potato cooking tips and some of her favorite recipes.  Olen will offer advice on growing the crop in our area and share some of the latest trends in unique growing systems.

Registration starts at 5:00 PM and the program begins at 5:30.   Pre-registration is advised as space is limited. St. Lawrence Church is located at 2410 Morris Thomas Rd. The fee is $24 which includes the educational program, potato resource guide and recipe book, plus food sampling.
