Booo! The Portland Malt Shoppe is about to close up for the season.

The popular store will be closing for the 2020 season on Sunday, October 11th. They will reopen come spring of 2021 as always.

The Portland Malt Shoppe shared the news on their website. They are known for their amazing spot along the shore of Lake Superior near downtown Duluth. They are also known for their amazing malts, sundaes, floats and ice cream.

The Portland Malt Shoppe was supposed to open in early April but because of the pandemic, they were not able to do so. Thankfully, they were able to open and we were able to feast on the delicious treats all summer long!

As mentioned, the shop will reopen in 2021. They always open to customers once it starts to warm up outside come spring and shut down for the winter months. You better go feast on some ice cream before they close for the season! One thing is for sure - when they do, I will be counting down the days until they open again.

Gordy's Hi-Hat is another popular seasonal restaurant in the Northland, closing for the winter months each year. They closed up shop at the end of the month with a reopening date to be announced. In the meantime, we might be able to catch them on television. They are set to appear on another episode of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives at some point in the near future, having filmed another segment for the show in July.
