The Culture: Pop-Up Co Lab Opens In Downtown Duluth

Another business is calling downtown Duluth home. The spot is called The Culture: Pop-Up Co Lab and it's unlike any other store in the area.

There have been some awesome additions to the downtown Duluth area recently. Earlier this year, a new restaurant opened in the old Toasty's location. The spot, called Loaf and Ladle, offers classics like soup and sandwiches.

Just down the block, the Apostle Supper Club opened! The new spot opened in May, along with an accompanying tiki bar called False Eyedoll Lounge. It sits at the top of the Radisson, which offers 360 degree views of Duluth.

One of my favorite additions is a new coffee shop just down the street. Dream Cloud Coffee Roasters also opened this year and is dreamy (no pun intended). The coffee shop offers drinks you won't find anywhere else.

The newest business to call downtown Duluth home is also a unique one! The Culture: Pop-Up Co Lab is the result of a partnership between the Greater Downtown Council and Duluth 1200 Fund.

The partners chose eight businesses to share the space in downtown Duluth, according to a Facebook post by Downtown Duluth's Greater Downtown Council. The space is being rented out for free between now and mid-October. The property owner is providing the space while Duluth 1200 Fund provides financial assistance to the companies for other things, like bills and such.

The eight businesses that share the space are as follows:

Auntie's Stand, which sells cosmetics
Aonehc LLC, which sells jewelry, soaps and lotions
Cheesecake & Co, which sells cheesecake and other food
Kings Klothing, which sells urban apparel
MBK Clothing, which sells urban apparel and accessories
Rose From The Rough, which sells soups, candles and gifts
Scarlet Blu Cosmetics, which sells cosmetics
TheFreshKid, which sells custom shoes and apparel

Another thing that separates this unique space is that selection preference was given to BIPOC, women-owned businesses and veteran owned businesses. I think it is a really cool idea to have a selection of businesses in one storefront so you can shop a bunch of different things at once.

Each business also has their own space inside which is designed to match the vibe of the store! You can take a look inside the store before making your way there in person with some photos shared by the Greater Downtown Council.

I was actually walking to get coffee the other day when I noticed the storefront. It was super early in the morning so it wasn't open yet but it is in a great location right along Superior Street.
