Pizza Hut Back-Peddles On Debate Stunt
Now we'll probably never know - and that's probably a good thing for the country.
Pizza Hut is back-peddling on their stunt to inflict the question: "Pepperoni or sausage" into the town-hall-style debate happening tonight. Corporate owner Yum Brands had pleaded with someone to ask the question of the two candidates, promising "free pizza for life" or a check for $15,600.
The move was seen as yet another distraction in an election-cycle that has already seen more than it's usual share of side-bars.
Now, the company is rescinding it's offer - sort of. Pizza Hut has moved the contest to their website, and has toned-down the suggestion that someone should ask the question during the live debate. However, company officials say that they would still pay out if someone did.
