Fears of a listeria contamination have caused one of the nations leading bakery chains to recall one of their products.  The Panera Bread Company is recalling all 2 ounce and 8 ounce tubs of cream cheese from their business that have an expiration date on or before 4/2/18.

At present, there have been no confirmed cases of Listeria from the product;  in-house tests on one production day did come back positive - however tests from before and after that date haven't.  The voluntary recall is the companies proactive way to preventing any issues.

Listeria affects more than 1,500 people each year in the United States with about 250 of the cases resulting in death.

Panera Bread operates a location in Duluth at 2108 Maple Grove Rd.
