Northern Tool & Equipment Recalls Generators Due to Shock Hazard
Minnesota based Northern Tool & Equipment has issued a recall on some power generators due to a shock hazard.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Northern Tool & Equipment say the recall affects their $1850 Powerhorse 13000ES Portable Generator Model #799215 that was sold nationwide in its store and online between 2016 - 2020.
This recall is for just over 3,600 units sold because of faulty wiring that has the potential to give the user an electric shock if not grounded according to instructions. The wiring issue is on the receptacle providing 120V / 30A power generally used for RV and Marina applications according to Northern Tool.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says that Northern Tool & Equipment has only gotten one report incorrect wiring connection on the Chinese made generator, and they say that they've gotten no reports of injury related to the issue.
If you have one of these generators you're asked to stop using it immediately and contact Northern Tool & Equipment to have the unit repaired for free by an authorized dealer.
