MNDOT Plans Bridge Inspections; Ramp Closures Happen April 24-27

With two major bridges in the Twin Ports - not to mention an interstate highway and miles of highway - road maintenance is a significant concern.  The crews with the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation work diligently to inspect and repair the roadways we use each and every day.

Along those lines, MNDOT will be performing their annual spring inspections of the bridges April 24-27.  In order to facilitate this, drivers can anticipate lane closures and detours. The closures will impact traffic in the following ways:

• April 24:  The ramp from northbound Interstate 535 to southbound I-35 will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. A detour will be posted.
• April 25:  The ramp from northbound Interstate 535 to northbound I-35 will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  A detour will be posted.
• April 27:  The ramp from southbound Highway 194 (Mesaba Avenue) to southbound I-35 will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Motorists can anticipate temporary or alternating lane closures.
