MNDOT Clearing Trees + Brush Along Highway 2
The Minnesota Department of Transportation is alerting drivers to an off-road project that will impact drivers the week of January 25-29. According to information released by the agency, work crews will be on site along Highway 2 at select areas to clear trees and brush. Specifically, the work will occur on Highway 2 between Highway 200 and Gunn Road, near Grand Rapids.
The tree removal and brush clearing work will be performed in advance of a road project anticipated to start this summer. The work is happening at assorted culvert locations along Highway 2 as the Minnesota Department of Transportation gets ready for a reclaim and overlay project.
One note to the work from MNDOT: The clearing work that they'll be performing this week won't be as extensive as they had originally scheduled. The revision to the work order stems from MNDOT not securing a contract for the clearing work. All of the trees and brush being removed is on state right of way and not on private property.
