The Minnesota Timberwolves will pay tribute to their hometown hero Prince during the season.

On Thursday, November 1st the team unveiled their new Prince City Edition uniforms. The purple jerseys, created through a collaborative effort between the Timberwolves, Nike and the Prince Estate, will debut on the Nov. 16 home game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Fans can purchase the City Edition merch online at the  Timberwolves' team store website.

Prince is a huge basketball fan and loves his Minnesota Teams and most people don't know the amount of money Prince committed to charities because he did so quietly. This is the Timberwolves way of honoring a hometown hero and helping people and causes Prince held close to his heart.

The Timberwolves will donate to non-profit organizations that advance causes important to Prince, with an on-court check presentation to these organizations at home games where the City Edition uniforms are worn. The uniforms will be worn for eight games throughout the regular season. Check out the promo video below.
