An unfortunate accident happened over the weekend when a St. Anthony man crashed head-on into another vehicle, killing one person and seriously injuring another.

The St. Anthony man is 20 years old and had a blood-alcohol level of .20 when the accident happened. You should never drink and drive ever, but if you're wondering, the legal limit is .08 in Minnesota. He was also drinking under age.

According to Patch, Minnesota State Patrol responded to a report of a Jeep traveling the wrong way down I-394 in Golden Valley, Minnesota. It was reported that troopers watched as the wrong-way Jeep collided with a Chrysler head-on.

At the horrific scene, officers said the driver of the jeep had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. When the officers asked the man if he knew he was driving the wrong way, he responded with "sorry bro". The man even said he had about 10 drinks before getting into his car.

The driver of the Chrysler was a 30 year-old man from Melrose who unfortunately died at the scene. His 21 year-old passenger survived with serious injuries and was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center. The St. Anthony man has been charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

My thoughts and prayers go out the the Melrose man who passed away and the passenger who was injured in this horrible accident.
