Minnesota Couple Has Turned Old Grain Bins Into An Awesome Airbnb Experience

When it comes to Airbnb's they come in all shapes and sizes and in areas all over the world. A couple from Alexandria Minnesota really have thought outside of the box, literally by recycling old grain bins to fit in on their farm giving them new life.

A few years ago Dave and Anne Larson came across the idea of recycling old grain bins into a getaway destination. Anne joked that when she was younger she loved to build forts so this seemed like a normal transition. The 90-year-old grain bins came from Anne's Aunt's place that they were able to create into eight different rooms.

The  Airbnb is known as Gathered Oaks and in the summer they typically host weddings and use the repurposed barn on the property for receptions There also is a beautiful lake on the property as well. But they have guests all year long including in the winter where guests enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling, shopping and there is a winery close by too.

One of the guests Michelle Venter said to WCCO "Originally I thought it was gonna be cold. You know, a grain bin, just a piece of metal. But they’re really comfortable, clean, really nice rooms."

The builders sure had their work cut out for them trying to adapt these round buildings, but as you can see in the video below they did an amazing job and these unique rooms are attracting people from all over the world.
