It's getting hard to keep up with the food-related recalls these days.  A new round of ground beef recalls has been announced - this time sourcing from a Michigan processing plant.  Like many earlier recalls, the concern is that hard plastic pieces may have made their way into the ground beef products.  At present time, two individual cases of found materials have been reported.

The beef was processed by JBS Plainwell, Inc on March 20, 2019.  According to news sources and the United States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, more than 43,000 pounds are being recalled.

Identifying the ground beef loafs is done by looking for the establishment number marked on the package; the corresponding number is "EST 562M" - located in the center of the USDA mark of inspection.  According to sources, the ground beef has been available for purchase in store coolers in Michigan and Wisconsin.

If you identify one of the recalled packages in your refrigerator or freezer, you're asked to contact JBS Plainwell, Inc., at 970-506-7805.
