Tastykake Pie Recall Details For Minnesota + Wisconsin, Four Varieties Included
There is a voluntary recall that's currently affecting a popular brand of hand-held-style pies, sold at convenience and grocery stores across the country - including Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Flower Foods, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall on varieties of their Tastykake and Mrs. Freshley's glazed pies. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the issue has to do with an undeclared soy ingredient. That soy ingredient could prove to have serious or life-threatening implications for people who have allergies or severe sensitivities
The products involved in the recall include the following:
- Tastykake Glazed Apple Pie
- Tastykake Glazed Caramel Apple Pie
- Tastykake Glazed Cherry Pie
- Tastykake Glazed Lemon Flavored Pie
- Tastykake Variety Glazed Pie Shipper (a package that contains the Apple Pie, Cherry Pie, and Lemon Flavored varieties)
- Mrs. Freshley's Apple Fruit Pie
- Mrs. Freshley's Cherry Fruit Pie
The recalled products were distributed throughout the U.S. market from September 26, 2022 to October 6, 2022 to retailers and vending machines. The packages have either an "Enjoy By" date of 10/28/2022 through 11/07/2022 and can also include Product Codes 307 2263 through 307 2274 - printed on the front of the packages.

No illnesses or medical issues have been reported in connection with the recalled fruit pies at this time. The action was taken under an abundance of caution, after an internal survey determined that certain pies were made with the soy ingredient, which is not listed on the product label.
