An upgrade and improvement project to existing utilities in Lincoln Park will result in a street closure and service-disruption along West 9th Street; According to the City of Duluth, work crews will start service work on the sanitary sewer pipe on Monday, July 23.

Specifically, work will be performed on West 9th Street between 24th Avenue West and 23rd Avenue West.  During the time that work is being done, traffic will be closed off on West 9th Street in that area and on-street parking will not be allowed.

Although there are no plans for service disruptions during the time frame, the city is alerting property owners along that stretch that they may be asked to limit their water usage from time-to-time; work crews may ask homeowners to limit showers or their use of larger home appliances - like dishwashers and washing machines, at least while the new connections are being made.

As stated, the utility project is expected to get underway on July 23 and is anticipated to last approximately 4 to 5 weeks.  The exact timetable will be determined by multiple factors - including weather, materials, and any unknown problems.
