Johnsonville Recalling Nearly 100,000 Pounds Of Sausage
This is a little disturbing!
Johnsonville is recalling nearly 100,000 thousand pounds of sausage for the possibility of "extraneous material, specifically hard green plastic" in one of their popular items.
According to a press release issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the recall is for the company's ready-to-eat jalapeño cheddar smoked sausage. Those items impacted were produced and packaged in mid-March of this year.
A consumer reported finding hard green plastic in one of the sausages, leading to the recall.
If you have this item in your fridge, you are urged not to eat it under any circumstances. The recall is for the 14-ounce vacuum packages containing the specific type of sausage with a "best by" date of June 6th, 2019 on the back of the packaging.
You are asked to throw out the product or return it if you would like a refund. Johnsonville is a company based out of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin.
Just last month, a salmonella outbreak hit Minnesota and Wisconsin after the bacteria was found in Del Monte vegetable trays sold from Kwik Trip locations in the area.
