Get Ready For ‘Singing With The Stars’ At Duluth’s NorShor Theater In March
For the first time ever you can cheer on your favorite local celebrity as they take the stage at the historic NorShor Theater in Duluth to help raise money for The Duluth Playhouse. Like many businesses across the country, the pandemic put a major strain on the theater company. They have thought outside the box to help raise money to keep the theater going and keep putting on incredible performances for the Northland.
Tickets to the show include a free champagne greeting that each guest receives as they exit the Red Carpet, hors d’oeuvres, and a coffee and dessert bar. Plus each ticket also includes one free vote for your favorite contestant. I spoke with Wes Drummond the Executive Director of Duluth Playhouse and he said that they were looking for a fun and unique way to raise money and came up with this event.
Some of the celebrities performing include Former Mayor Don Ness, Solomon Witherspoon, and FOX 21's Dan Hanger. I have been asked to be one of the judges to offer some comedic banter after each performance, but the audience is actually the ones who will pick the winner of the event. Audience members can also purchase additional votes for their favorite singer.
"The mission of Duluth Playhouse is to create opportunities in theatrical arts that educate, entertain, and engage the region." Did you know that this theater company has been around since 1914 making it the oldest non-profit theater in the United States? They produce shows and musicals year-round and also offer a School Of Performing Arts for kids and adults.
