Walmart Rolling Out Major Change At Minnesota + Wisconsin Stores
Walmart has been making a bunch of changes over the past year and now they are adding another one to the list.
Recently, Walmart stores quietly changed their popular coupon policy, cracking down on which coupons and how many coupons loyal customers can use.
They also have started modernizing their stores nationwide, updating their floors and bathrooms, along with other small cosmetic changes.
This new change isn't cosmetic and in fact, you might not even notice it at first. It may take a few trips to the superstore to catch on, if at all.
According to reports, Walmart is quietly changing part of their self-checkout process to cut down on theft. These changes would make it harder for people to steal while checking out themselves.

So how does it work? The new technology recognizes items even when the barcode isn't scanned, instead using embedded codes invisible to the human eye on packaging. That's pretty sneaky - and smart!
This new technology can also pick up a bunch of different items at one time, which means things could be a bit speedier at the self-checkout lanes as well.

It's no secret that Walmart, like so many other retailers who have introduced self-checkout, are losing money to people pretending to scan items and pocketing them instead. This should help reduce theft so scammers and thieves, beware!
